Indeed, the Tate Modern, for example, sits on the River Thames, and it houses exhibitions from top artists such as Damien Hirst and Gaugin. Meanwhile, the National Gallery is eminently popular, and if you are more of a European art fan, then you will be able to take in a collection of works from the likes of Leonardo da Vinci and Rembrandt.
Soak up the History
With its roots dating back to the Romans, London’s streets are seeping with history. Now, you will find plenty of sprawling skyscrapers, which include The Shard and the London Eye, which is essentially a big Ferris wheel that you can sit on for 10 minutes and get some incredible views.
Alternatively, you could take a trip to the Houses of Parliament and be given a guided tour of where the power decisions are made in Westminster.
Or, if you want to delve into London’s criminal past, then a visit to the Museum of Docklands will be an eye-opener, as you can learn more about executions.
Have a Night on the Town
With a phalanx of top bars and restaurants, London has plenty of watering holes and fine dining places for you to spend time with friends. You may choose to take in a theatre production afterward and there are some fantastic musicals and shows taking place daily.
