Constantinou Bros Asimina Suites Hotel Cyprus Review

Constantinou Bros Asimina Suites

Constantinou Bros Asimina Suites

As I stand on the rooftop bar admiring the wonderful sunset, I feel most fortunate. Not due to the beautiful view, after all Cyprus is an island renowned for almost perpetual sun, but that I am standing here at all. For the bar has only just been created as part of the recent refurbishment of the Constantinou Bros Asimina Suites Hotel, and I am one of its first customers.

The adult-only resort in Cyprus only reopened its doors at the start of May 2006 as part of a six-month renovation. In addition to creating this rooftop bar, the owners also added the floor in which my suite is situated. It has the same wonderful views, overlooking the resort with its inviting pool down towards the beach.

Checking in could hardly have been easier. In the dedicated lounge, we enjoyed some sparkling wine whilst all that annoying paperwork was facilitated.

My suite

My one-bed suite is spacious and extremely comfortable a sliding door separating the lounge area which I am destined to neglect throughout my stay from the bedroom which will allow me peaceful sleep each night.

The contemporary marble bathroom has a separate bath (again neglected) and walk-in rainfall shower, which is essential.

I freshen up after my flight, before joining my companions at the St Andrews Rooftop Bar, where excellent cocktails accompany the unparalleled views.

The Asimina Suites Hotel has four restaurants. On the first night we have the buffet at the Estia restaurant, which includes some excellent salads and fresh fish, before adjoining to the ViP’s bar, which has also been extended in the recent refurbishment.

Kymata restaurant affords beach side dining

Our favourite restaurant is the open-air Kymata, which spills out onto the beach. Here we enjoy the most amazing breakfast the following morning which introduces us to the amazing variety of the incredible Cypriot cuisine.

Following this I relax in my room while my companions embark on some of the activities available at the hotel including a painting and wine class as well as cookery class.

I am saving myself for the Gin masterclass from mixologist and head bar man George, where we sample from the hotel’s incredible selection of gins once more at the St Andrews Rooftop Bar.

After this I head to the beach for a quick dip before dinner. Although the beach is slightly rocky the water is wonderfully refreshing and I float like an abandoned lilo until it is time to freshen up for dinner once more at Kymata where some of my companions partake in questionable Cypriot dancing.

Elixir Spa

I decided to skip the Elixir Spa during my stay but some of my colleagues said how rejuvenated they felt after their treatments. The hotel also has an indoor pool and fully equipped gym (once more neglected). Instead, I chose to fluctuate between lazing by the large outdoor pool and floating in the sea.

Day-trips to Paphos and around Cyprus

Asimina Suites Hotel is a leisurely walk along the coast from Paphos. We visited the town on one of our day trips, which you can read about here, as well as one evening when we dined at the delightful Pagkratios restaurant. Here we chatted with both owners and locals, one of whom was celebrating his birthday with a surprise party thrown by his daughter.

We spend our final evening having one final dinner at the Kymata restaurant before dancing into the early hours at the ViP’s bar for a final night’s entertainment.
