This autumn will see Derby buzz with the Derby Folk Festival held in the city centre.

Held from 11 to 13 October, the festival will include a host of folk musicians. The festival is produced by Derby Folk Partnership  and supported by Derby LIVE / Derby City Council.

The festival started in 2007 in the Assembly Rooms, when it was dubbed the Derby Traditional Music & Arts Festival. It changed its name in 2010. In the past the festival has held concerts in Derby Cathedral and The Guildhall Theatre. This year there will be concerts in the Old Bell Hotel Derby as well as free music in the Cathedral Quarter.

Derby Folk Festival Programme

This year will see Arbrevyn, Benammi Swift, The Brothers Gillespie, Beyond The Blue, Detta Kenzie, Gilmore & Roberts, Hannah Scott, Jack Rutter, Michell, Pfeiffer & Kulesh, Phoebe Rees, Rachael McShane & The Cartographers, The Rosie Hood Band, Sam Carter, Steve Turner, and The Underground Sun performing. Where is the Derby Folk Festival 2024?

The festival will be held in the Old Bell Hotel, as well as on the streets around Derby Cathedral.

A weekend ticket costs £75-85, or you can purchase tickets for individual concerts. Tickets can be purchased here.

In addition to the Folk Festival, the city also has The Great Derbyshire Beer Festival in April and Derby Festé in September, although the latter will not be held in 2024.
