Angkor Photo Festival 2018, Cambodia

Siem Reap, Cambodia, is set to be brought to life with powerful images from across Asia when the annual Angkor Photo Festival and Workshops lands in December.
Now in its 14th year, the festival started life with the aim of nurturing young Asian talent by providing them with a platform to develop their skills and showcase their work. Since then, hundreds of amateur photographers have attended to learn from the variety of professional photographers who attend to share their knowledge.
Angkor Photo Festival Workshops
This year’s event will feature a series of exhibitions, seminars and workshops spread across 10 days.
The free professional development workshops take place from 8 to 14 December, and will see 30 emerging Asian photographers tap into the talents of their established peers.
They will be led by seven internationally-renowned photographers that include Kim Hak and Sopheak Vong from Cambodia and Andrea Fernandes from India.
Angkor Photo Festival Exhibitions
Throughout the festival, five exhibitions will be dotted throughout the city in public spaces and private venues.
These include the World Press Photo Exhibition 2018, which opens at Mirage Art Space on 14 December and The Architect’s Brother, which opens on 8 December at One Eleven Gallery and features images from Shana and Robert ParkeHarrison.
From 14 to 18 December, work from more than 40 photographers can be seen at Projections, the festival’s main daily event. The Closing Night will see the work produced by the 30 workshop participants displayed. And each morning, photographers can attend the daily portfolio reviews to receive feedback from the panel of professionals.

Anjali Photo Workshop
The annual Anjali Photo Workshop runs alongside the festival from 5 to 14 December. Launched by Magnum photographer Antoine D’Agata, it provides a platform for creative expression through photographer for street kids at NGO Anjali House.
The workshops are led by eight photographers and aim to let the children tell their stories in a creative and fun way.
