Canal Convergence, Scottsdale, Arizona 2020
November 6, 2020 - November 15, 2020
Free

A large open air art event in downtown Scottsdale, the Canal Convergence features local and international artists. It begins in the late afternoon and continues into the night.
Scottsdale Public Art are the organisers of the festival. It looks impressive at night when the light displays can be seen in their full beauty.
The theme for this year’s Canal Convergence is coming together. It aims to encourage people to share their collective experiences and passion for art. It will include inflatable light sculptures and large visual installations, including Spectrum by Olivier Ratsi, OGE Group’s 32-foot-high light sculpture Together! Responding to COVID-19, and Massively Distributed, a dynamic sound and visual composition by MASARY.
This is not just about visual art either. There are poetry readings, live music, dance, comedy, storytelling and creative workshops as well.
Due to COVID-19 concerns the event will take place throughout Scottsdale Old Town rather than just along the canal. There will also be a series of online events including live talks, workshops and music that people can join via Zoom.
The History of Canal Convergence

The Canal Convergence began in 2013 when the Arizona Canal on the Scottsdale Waterfront was temporarily drained and the area was turned into an open air art display. It was originally a two-day event, though it has grown steadily since then.
