About the Herefordshire Walking Festival
The initial Herefordshire Walking Festival was held in 2002 as a sign that the county was open for walking after the 2001 foot and mouth epidemic. It is now a pivotal factor in attracting visitors to Herefordshire. The county is blessed with magnificent scenery, especially Brecon Beacons National Park, Malvern Hills, Wye Valley, Offas Dyke, Mortimer Forest and numerous nature reserves for walkers to enjoy.
For the 2022 Herefordshire festival, walks include: Wye Valley Challenge, Herefordshire Trail, Golden Valley Challenge Walk, The Olchon Horseshoe, Cider Solstice Walk, and Yew Tree Medical Rehydration Walk, City walks, Church visits and WW1 Memorial Walks. They accommodate walkers of all levels, as well as wheelchair bound and the visually impaired. The organisers work together with Herefordshire Ramblers and Disabled Ramblers.
A list of walks can be found here.
