The Juneteenth Music Festival is a celebration of African American culture held in the Five Points neighbourhood of Denver, Colorado on 15 and 16 June, 2024.

The Juneteenth Parade which dates back to the 1950s kicks off the two-day celebrations, with 5,000 participants marching through the city.

This is followed by live music performances, art and fun activities for all the family, including interactive educational programmes relating to African American culture. The event draws around 70,000 attendees each year.

What Is Juneteenth?

Juneteenth celebrates the day that African Americans in Texas discovered of their freedom, some two years subsequent to the Emancipation Proclamation. Denver council recognised Juneteenth as a holiday in 2021.
