History of the Lagos International Theatre Festival
The Lagos International Theatre Festival grew from a bold vision to showcase Nigerian and African theatre on the global stage. Founded by Bolanle Austen‑Peters and her collaborators, LITF expanded rapidly into a multi‑venue city takeover that highlights local playwrights, directors and international collaborations. The festival now attracts companies and guests from across Africa and beyond, positioning Lagos as a cultural hub for contemporary performance.
