Inspired by the Marathon du Medoc, the Marathon du Malton 10K returns to the streets of Yorkshire’s foodie town on 15 September, 2024.
“Britain’s Tastiest 10k”, the Marathon du Malton 10K takes runners and walkers around the fields surrounding Malton with food and drink stops on the way.
Choose from local beer or gin, and roast beef served with Yorkshire Puds, washed down with great wine. There will also be macarons made by the UK pastry champion.
Entering the Malton 10K
There are three races:
The Malton race at 10:45 – for more seasoned athletes, no food or drink stops;
‘Le Classique’ race at 12:30pm – which adopts a more laidback and tasting approach with food and drink stops;
‘Escargot’ race at 12:40pm – just for walkers with food and drink stops, dogs on leads.
Tickets for these races are now closed, but you can purchase a ticket for the run only option (Sans Arret) until Saturday 14 September.
Fancy Dress
Fancy dress is de rigueur, with prices for the best costumes, except for those competing in the sans arret race.
Other Activities
Malton will be full of food and drink stalls for those not participating, as well as music from the New York Brass Band and entertainment for all the family until around 5pm,. The York Mix Radio roadshow will also be in attendance.
Malton Food Festivals
Malton is renowned for its food and festivals. There is also the Harvest Food Lovers Festival in October, and the Malton Food Festival (Food Lovers Festival) over the May Bank Holiday. There is also a monthly food market, and the Malton Christmas Festival on 7 and 8 December.
Getting to the Marathon du Malton
Disabled toilets, parking and other facilities are available. Malton is on the award-winning Coastliner bus route.
