For classic chalet browsing, head to the Marché de Noël on Place du Grand Théâtre
Roughly forty wooden stalls fill the square beside Calais’s historic theatre, selling regional delicacies, decorations and handmade gifts. Children can visit Santa in his chalet while adults sample waffles, crêpes and mulled wine. It’s a compact, walkable market close to shops and cafés, ideal for a winter weekend or a quick detour from a channel crossing. The dates and location are set out on the Calais XXL tourism page and echoed by regional tourism listings for Hauts‑de‑France. Combine with the Village de Noël at Place d’Armes (ice rink and carousel) to round out the day.
