Things to Do in Maputo
Maputo offers a wealth of attractions beyond the festival. Stroll along the Avenida Marginal, with its sweeping views of the Indian Ocean. The eighteenth century Maputo Fortress and Museum, as well as the Central Railway Station, showcase the city’s history and colonial architecture. Flights and Getting to Maputo
From London, the most direct route is via Johannesburg with a connecting flight to Maputo. Other ways of getting there are with TAP via Lisbon, Turkish via Istanbul or Qatar via Doha.
From Miami, fly to Johannesburg and then connect to Maputo. From New York and Los Angeles, the route is similar: a flight to Johannesburg followed by a short hop to Maputo.
From Maputo airport, taxis and shuttle services takes you directly to the city centre, where festival venues are located. Travel time is usually under 30 minutes.
