Oregon Otter Beer Festival 2026, Portland, USA

Oregon Otter Beer Festival

Oregon Otter Beer Festival is a Portland fundraiser that pairs craft beverages with a conservation mission.

Held on 11 April 2026 at the Oregon Museum of Science & Industry (OMSI), the event is presented by the Elakha Alliance and partners, using the city’s standout riverside museum as its setting. It’s positioned as a flagship annual fundraiser, so the atmosphere tends to lean social and celebratory, with tasting at the heart of the night.

Join the Elakha Alliance for its key annual fundraiser, celebrating five years of conservation work, community spirit and craft beverages. The event highlights Oregon’s dynamic drinks scene while raising funds to support the return of sea otters and the recovery of coastal ecosystems.

Last year’s event raised more than $36,000, and organisers are aiming to reach $50,000 in 2026 to further support marine restoration efforts.

The festival showcases a wide range of locally crafted drinks. Breweries will create special sea otter inspired beers using Maris Otter malt, joined by offerings from regional wineries, cider producers and ginger beer makers. Guests can sample the selection and vote for their favourites, with expert judges choosing the top creations.

Alongside the drinks, visitors can enjoy a raffle and silent auction featuring artwork and experience prizes, live painting, music, interactive activities and a variety of food. There will also be opportunities for guests to take part in creative experiences, from body art to hands-on printing and poetry.

Founded by tribal and conservation leaders, the Elakha Alliance works to restore sea otters to Oregon’s coastline. Attending this milestone event directly supports that mission and helps protect the region’s marine environment.

For travellers, OMSI’s location on the east bank of the Willamette makes it easy to reach from central hotels, and it’s close to the Central Eastside’s wider food and drink scene if you want to extend the evening. If you’re looking for a beer event with a clear ‘cause’ angle, this is a strong pick. Check the organiser’s page for ticketing and on-the-day timings.
