If you do not feel up to the crowds of the Munich Oktoberfest, you could consider another festival just across the border in neighbouring Austria. The 43rd St Johann Dumpling Festival (Knoedelfest) will take place in the Austrian Tyrol on 20 September, 2025.
One of the most popular of the festivals in Austria, the Knoedelfest features 26,000 dumpling served on a 595-metre table on the Speckbacherstraße – unsurprisingly the longest dumpling table in the world. There are 26 different recipes from 21 local restaurants, so hopefully you will find something to your taste.
