

A Taste of Donegal 2022, Ireland
August 26 - August 28


Billed as the biggest food festival in North West Ireland, A Taste of Donegal will feature more than 130 food exhibitors from across Ireland and the UK, as well as beer and wine tasting, live music and a spectacular fireworks display over beautiful Donegal Bay, this August.
The festival has grown from humble beginnings to become a mainstay of the food festival circuit, blessed with its backdrop of the Blue Stack Mountains and with the Atlantic Ocean in the distance. Savour The Flavour Event which takes place on what would normally be the Taste of Food Festival Weekend, 26th – 28th August 2022. The Concept of ‘Savour The Flavour of Donegal Town’ was part of the ‘Taste the Island ‘Initiative by Failte Ireland. It consisted of various events taking place throughout the town over 3 days. The programme involved foodie themed events with other activities.
Chefs Appearing at A Taste of Donegal


This year will see cooking demos from top chefs Neven Maguire, Catherine Fulvio, Gary O’ Hanlon, Brian McDermott, Kevin Dundon and Maire Dufficey, as well as whiskey, Irish liquor and gin masterclasses and tasting from Sliabh Liag Distillery, Coole Swan and Muff Liquor Company. Other chefs attending include Anthony Armstrong, Martin Anderson, Christopher Molloy and Andrew McKee.
There will also be a competition to crown the best chef in the area, as well as prizes for the best stand and best product.
Music and Entertainment
The festival is not just about food, Adrian Cullen will perform timeless songs from Dean Martin, and comic chef Joe Shannon, as well as comedian Frank Forde will entertain in the Cookery Comedy Theatre. Others performing include Zara Montgomery, Mr Majestic, and Mickey and Minnie.
Celebrating Heritage Week, there will also be a nature walk along Donegal’s riverbank.


The firework display will conclude the opening ceremony that starts at 7pm on 23 August and includes songs from Adrian Cullen as well as a food demonstration from Gary O’ Hanlon.
