Union Square Holiday Market

New York Christmas Market

Union Square Holiday Market

Every holiday season, Union Square Park in Manhattan becomes home to the beloved Union Square Holiday Market. Organised by URBANSPACE Pop Up Markets, the market features over 185 vendors this year, showcasing handmade crafts, unique gifts, and artisan food in a European‑style open‑air setting. Visitors stroll the colourful red‑and‑white stalls, soak up the festive lights, and savour seasonal snacks amidst Manhattan’s downtown buzz.

What to Expect at the Market

At the Union Square Holiday Christmas Market you’ll find a mix of local artists, designers and food vendors offering everything from ceramic home‑wares to quirky art prints, jewellery and winter accessories. Popular food options include warming treats like mulled cider, hot chocolate and global street‑food plates—perfect for grabbing a festive snack while you shop. The market’s layout creates a buzzing atmosphere, and while it can get busy at peak times, visiting earlier in the day or on weekdays helps make for a more relaxed experience.

Daily opening hours roughly from 11 am–9 pm (Mon–Fri), Saturdays from 10 am and Sundays with slightly shorter hours. Note that the market is closed on Thanksgiving Day and the last day (Christmas Eve) it usually closes early at around 4 pm.  It is ideally located at the south plaza of Union Square Park (14th Street & University Place) in New York City, with excellent subway access.
