Valetta International Baroque Festival 2025, Malta

Valetta International Baroque Festival, Malta

The Valetta International Baroque Festival will once more come to the Maltese capital in January.

Founded in 1566, the Baroque city is the perfect venue for the musical festival, especially with its national theatre of Malta, which was built in 1731, and series of baroque churches and cathedrals. Valetta was European Capital of Culture in 2018. In addition to concerts in the capital, the festival will also venture to other baroque venues elsewhere in Malta.

Valetta International Baroque Festival Programme

Launched in 2013, the Valletta Baroque Festival has consistently provided audiences with a distinctive experience, showcasing premier soloists and ensembles from the baroque music scene.

From Bach to Vivaldi and even Pink Floyd, the festival will celebrate all things Baroque, all played in the most beautiful settings, from St John’s Co-Cathedral to the Verdala Palace and the Palazzo Parisio and the Teatru Manoel.

These venues are genuine Baroque spaces, embellished with decor, sculptures and paintings characteristic of the era. Hosted by Festivals Malta each January and under the artistic direction of Kenneth Zammit Tabona, the festival’s enduring appeal is rooted in the magnificent Baroque settings found in Valletta.

The festival will consist of more than 30 concerts. A full list of performances can be found here.
