Zurich will be the home to a city-wide festival of dance in May. Held from 3 to 12 May, Zurich Tanzt assembles some of the finest contemporary dancers in the Swiss city, to display their innovative dance routines and practices.
Zurich Tanzt involves original works as well as an extensive programme of courses that everyone can join in.
Held since 2013, the programme includes plays, participatory productions, films and site-specific events, as well as workshops and parties.
It is supported by Stadt Zürich Kultur and various other sponsors. This is a spectacular explosion of dance in the heart of Switzerland and an occasion that is well worth joining in, if you happen to be in Zurich in May.

More than a dance festival
Zurich Tanzt is more than a dance festival as the organisers wish to make a bridge between the performing arts and social issues. At Tanzhaus Zurich, artists will contemplate contemporary social issues through dance on the Contemporary Stage, while the Playground is a space where young and old can experiment with dance in an intimate and interactive setting.
