‘Journey through the Badlands and Beyond’ with Levison Wood

Visitors to The Adventure Travel show on Saturday 19 January have the rare and unique opportunity to join an intimate audience with Levison Wood in his talk ‘Journey through the Badlands and Beyond’.

Listen to Lev sharing tales from his most recent rip-roaring travels across 5000 mile circumnavigation of the Arabian Peninsula. Journeying by foot, camel, mule, truck, car, and tank, Lev will disclose some of his most surreal experiences, revealing the unknown, commenting on current affairs and much more. After facing some of the most perilous danger zones on earth, Lev’s talk is a must-attend for anyone with a spirit for adventure. The Adventure Film Festival

Taking place on Saturday 19 January, visitors will enjoy an immersive evening at The Adventure Travel Film Festival, showcasing the best independent travel films in the industry. The evening will include several short films from across the adventure travel spectrum from ‘The Land of Pakistan’ to ‘Cape Town by trail bike’ to the main feature, full-length film ‘The Road to Independence’ by adventurer and intrepid filmmaker Ollie Hunter-Smart. Over 70 free inspirational talks across the weekend

Visitors to the show will enjoy a programme of over 70 inspirational talks and presentations across the weekend. The impressive line-up, including Antonia Bollingbroke-Kent, George Bullard, Dave Cornthwaite, Richard Matheson Harpham, Jon Woodroof, Aldo Kane, Anna Blackwell has been designed to celebrate the true spirit of adventure.

Don’t miss Cicerone’s series of trekking workshops where experts will provide an environment where you can get good, relevant advice and insight, to make any trekking trip a success. Expedition leader and global cyclist, Cressida Allwood and long-distance walker and cyclist for over 20 years, Mike Wells will be offering expert advice on the Camino de Santiago, Europe’s most popular long distance walking and cycling route. Mike cycled the route three times just last year alone and will describe the preparation needed for such a journey following Europe’s most historic trail.

The Adventure Travel Show will also be hosting a series of specialist seminars to engage and inform visitors. The expert sessions and workshops have been designed to engage experienced and first-time travellers. World-leading expert in ‘Tour de Force’ logistics Duncan Milligan and the writer and TV producer most widely known for Joanna Lumley’s Silk Road Adventure, Antonia Bolingbroke-Kent will be heading up the unmissable Adventure Planning Seminars. Antonia’s penchant for extreme travel has led to her writing three books, setting an unlikely Guinness World Record and exploring little-known regions from Siberia to the eastern Himalayas and beyond.

Founder of The Adventure Travel Film festival, Lois Pryce and long-distance adventure motorcyclist Austin Vince will be leading the Adventure by Motorcycle seminars, sharing experiences and advice on motorcycling for beginners as well as leading an exclusive talk on Motorcycle travel beyond Europe.
