The Fine Arts Museum Antwerp (KMSKA) will re-open on 24 September 2022 after being closed for 11 years.

Some 615 specially selected artworks are busy being hung in the newly renovated museum in readiness for its re-opening.

The selection, currently a closely guarded secret, is just a fraction of this gallery’s vast collection.

Paintings by Flemish primitives such as Jan van Eyck and Hans Memling and important works by Peter Paul Rubens, Amedeo Modigliani and Auguste Rodin are part of the collection, as are paintings by Quinten Massys, James Ensor and Rik Wouters.

In its imposing building with freshly restored historical and redesigned rooms, the KMSKA now wants to make its rich art tradition and art-historical expertise accessible to a wide audience again – in line with its vision of enchanting, enriching, and connecting people.

The images of the new museum give a great idea of what has been renovated in the older wing as well as offering shots of the newly constructed modern wing too.
