Hever Castle Grounds to Remain Open

 

Following the UK Government’s recent announcement of a national lockdown and having reviewed guidance on outdoor public places, Hever Castle is pleased to announce that the gardens and play areas will remain open during November.

Hever Castle’s gardens offer a wonderful opportunity to walk and enjoy the fresh air in 150 acres of outdoor space that has additional safety measures in place including social distancing, enhanced cleaning and limits on visitor numbers.

Autumn Colour this year is themed around the Japanese art of Forest Bathing and the importance of immersing yourself in nature to improve health and wellbeing.

Visitors can follow the trail which takes in Anne Boleyn’s Walk and Diana’s Walk or for those wanting a longer stroll, Lake Walk, the Japanese Tea House folly and Smugglers Walk offer spectacular colour and interest.

Those wishing to stick to the main paths can marvel at the classical statuary in the Italian Garden; admire the giant topiary chess set in the Tudor Garden and stroll through Blue Corner. The Loggia, overlooking the 38-acre lake, is the perfect spot to relax before exploring the many cascades, grottoes and fountains.

Please note that Diana’s Walk and parts of the Italian Garden are closed due to maintenance work.

Those coming to the gardens are reminded that they can visit an outdoor public place with the people they live with, their support bubble or when on your own with one person from another household.

Visitors to Hever Castle’s gardens will also be able to purchase food and drinks to take away although indoor Restaurants will be closed.

The Castle will close from 5 November until 2 December. The shops will close but the online shop will remain open and a click and collect service will operate from the Hever Shop.

Following government guidance, Hever Castle’s Luxury Bed & Breakfast and Medley Court will close from 4 November until 2 December. Anyone who has booked for this period will be contacted as soon as possible.

As outdoor leisure facilities including golf courses and driving ranges have been ordered to close, Hever Castle Golf Club will close for the period 5 November until 2nDecember. The Waterside Bar Restaurant & Terrace is also closed. Anyone who has booked for this period will be contacted as soon as possible.

Tickets will cost £10 for adults and £6 for children (5-17 years) during this period. Please note there will be no concessions (senior/student/family rates) at this time. The offer applies to new bookings only. Tickets will need to be prebooked online.
