Linthwaite House: Large Hotel of the Year

Cumbria Tourism Awards 2022 has named Linthwaite House the Large Hotel of the Year. The judges cited the “significant investment that has created a magnificent property throughout with glorious grounds and gardens, six new Fell Suites overlooking Windermere from up on high, an hotel with very fine interiors including a Simon Rogan restaurant and food & beverage run operation – together with professional service levels all round,” as reasons for their choice.

As Cumbria Tourism is the official Destination Management Organisation for the Lake District, Linthwaite House now has the accolade of being the top large hotel in the region and will go on to take part in the VisitEngland Award for Excellence in 2023. Due to the pandemic, this was the first time that the awards, which celebrate the very best of Cumbria’s vibrant tourism economy, had been held since 2019.

The Cumbria Tourism Award is yet another feather in the cap of Linthwaite House, which achieved four AA Inspectors’ Choice Red Stars for 2020-21, the AA’s ultimate honour that is used to recognise hotels that stand out by offering excellent quality and outstanding levels of hospitality and service, regardless of their size or style. Linthwaite House was also recognized as the 29th best hotel in the United Kingdom – and the only one in the Lake District – when Condé Nast Traveler announced its annual Readers’ Choice Awards in late 2020.

For those wishing to experience this wonderful property for themselves, summer rates start from £279 for two people sharing a double room on a B&B basis; bookings can be made by phone on 01539 488 600, via email on [email protected] or online at https://leeucollection.com/.
