Brooks Country House Self-Catering Apartment

A new luxury apartment will be opening at Brooks Country House, a 22-bedroom Georgian manor hotel located between Ross-on-Wye and the cathedral city of Hereford later this month in time for May bookings. This gives another bow to Brooks’ string of accommodation offerings including the main hotel and annexe rooms and three quirky horsebox glamping options in the main courtyard.

Also located in the hotel’s courtyard with its stunning views across Pengethley National Park and its 500-year-old oak trees, the apartment occupies the entire ground floor of the Tudor coach house, providing a relaxed country retreat for guests looking for a flexible solution for family get-togethers, friends’ reunions and romantic getaways.

The original building has undergone a complete refurbishment, designed with the same quintessentially English décor to mirror the charm and grace of the main house, featuring Cole & Son’s opulent wallpaper, wooden flooring and panelled walls, with colonial shutters.

The coach house apartment’s outlook is stunning and provides a private L shaped barbecue terrace to the rear where guests can sit and relax whilst watching the seasons change and the stunning sunsets in the summer months. Guests will have full access to the hotel’s facilities which include the swimming pool terrace with its 11-metre outdoor pool, barrel sauna and hot tub, as well as giant chess set for even more fun and games and 15 acres of grounds including vegetable gardens and the hotel’s own vineyard.

The main living area provides a spacious 12.5m by 5m area complete with a wood burning stove, comfortable leather sofas, and a dining area to seat six guests. The kitchen provides a fully equipped, bespoke handmade shaker kitchen with an island breakfast bar and an American-style fridge freezer, range cooker, dishwasher and washing machine, with beautiful granite work surfaces.

Sleeping accommodation in the apartment provides two beautifully decorated en-suite bedrooms, with classic panelling in Farrow & Ball tones, with Cole & Son wallpaper, with flat-screen TVs. The mix of contemporary and antique furnishings give the rooms a more homely, personal feel.

For the ultimate luxury sleep, the rooms are fitted with 1000 pocket sprung beds, goose down pillows and duvets with crisp white linen, which can be set up as two twins, a double and a twin or two double beds.

The spacious master bedroom features a traditional roll-top bath for a touch of added luxury, and both bathrooms are tiled floor to ceiling in travertine stone and feature Hans Grohe eco showers and modern white sanitary ware with demisting LED mirrors.  Bedrooms are 13sq metres and 17 square metres exclusive of the bathrooms.

There is also the addition of one sofa bed available in the lounge for larger groups needing flexible sleeping space giving the apartment maximum occupancy of six.

If guests choose to dine outside of the apartment, they also have access to the hotel’s fully licensed bar and restaurant which prides itself on using local artisan suppliers and producers to create its seasonal menus.

The apartment is ideally located for hiking and biking trails as well as kayaking down the River Wye, exploring Symonds Yat and the Forest of Dean.

Carla Brooks, owner of Brooks Country House commented: “The Tudor coach house was the ideal location to offer our guests a luxury self-catering accommodation option as a home from home getaway, but still within just a few steps from all our hotel facilities. Adding this option really does mean that we can offer something for everyone be it luxury hotel suites, fun horsebox glamping and now the apartment.

Pricing ranges from £130 (Sundays) – £225 (Saturdays) per night, 2 night min stay. For more information on Brooks Country House Self-Catering Apartment, go to www.brookscountryhouse.com or call 01989 730 211.
