Climb Three Sicilian Volcanos with Explore

Adventure travel specialist Explore has announced a one-off trip to Sicily to experience the summit of three of Europe’s most active volcanoes. Departing 22 September, the eight-day trip will be accompanied by specialist volcanology guide Luca Cosma and will allow travellers access to the barren yet beautiful moonscapes of the top 3330 metre crater zone of Mount Etna.

Observe volcanic pyrotechnics in action after dark on the top of the Stromboli volcano and hike to the summit of the Gran Cratere on Vulcano Island. The group – capped at 16 travellers maximum – will also meet with Marco Neri, a geologist / volcanologist with the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology in Catania. Marco has been working on Etna for over 30 years and will share fascinating stories of some of the many volcanic and seismic emergencies that he has been involved with as he guides the group around the Etna Observatory.

This one-off special trip departs 22 September and costs from £1,695 per person including flights, transfers, accommodation with breakfast and some additional meals, and an Explore Tour Leader throughout.

Places are limited to 16. For more information or to book, call 01252 884 723 or visit explore.co.uk
