Hotel Quelle: 5-Star Nature Spa in the Dolomites

Deriving its name from the German word for ‘source’,  award-winning Nature Spa Hotel Quelle is situated at an altitude of 1400m at the point where the three Valleys of Casies, Pustertal and Gsies meet; near the town of Bruneck in the province of Bolzano, in the Dolomites, South Tyrol, Italy.

Hotel Quelle is marking an exciting new chapter in its sixty-five year history as the next generation of the Steinmair Family take a more central role in the day to day operation.  The hotel has recently been awarded five Stars and is pursuing an ambitious luxury upgrade and refurbishment. This started in 2016 and has seen the completion of a new reception area, Sky Lounge and Junior Suites, as well as the addition of the first Snow Sauna in the Alps, a new infinity pool, and an infinity event sauna. In May 2018, Hotel Quelle will be also be unveiling seven luxury serviced apartments.

Nature Spa

The interior design and architecture draws on the beautiful natural surroundings, with aspects of nature prevalent throughout; organic materials such as local wood and bark are incorporated to bring the outdoors inside.

The hotel is surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens to promote curiosity and reflection – in nature both tamed and wild – framed by mountain views. There is a touch of folklore too with a Chapel on-site dedicated to St Christopher, the patron saint of travellers.

Two of the hotel’s seven pools extend from the indoors to the outdoors, accessed via motion-sensor glass doors, while the Biological Bathing Pond added this year, along with the new outdoor Kneipp and barefoot walking path, encourages a more visceral reconnection with nature.

Original features such as the water mill have been preserved and incorporated into one of the saunas.

Hotel Quelle offers over 5000m² of wellness, relaxation and beauty space, including a dedicated spa for adults only, and a separate and highly impressive Family Spa.  There are 10 sauna and steam rooms, including the Snow Sauna – a unique ice lounge designed to relieve sore muscles and tension, particularly effective after a hot sauna.  There is also a warming salt-water grotto.
