New Spring Breaks at Tudor Farmhouse

Boutique hotel Tudor Farmhouse in the Forest of Dean has just launched a collection of spring breaks for those looking to make the most of the drawn-out days and warmer weather; from flower arranging with floral-themed afternoon teas and forest walking itineraries with locally-sourced picnics to foodie foraging breaks with the hotel’s expert forager.

Guests can also borrow wellies and roam the hotel’s 14 acres of grassland, hunt for daffodils and bluebells in the forest (exploring the Sculpture Trail and Puzzlewood), visit Symonds Yat to cycle or kayak along the River Wye or simply sip botanic cocktails in the courtyard garden before enjoying gourmet meals by head chef Rob Cox, who recently won the South West Chef of the Year title, and relaxing in rooms with roll-top baths, monsoon showers and Nespresso coffee machines.

Highlights are below, with more information found here: www.tudorfarmhousehotel.co.uk/escapes.

This new two-night package has been designed to encourage guests to make the most of springtime in the Forest of Dean. Grab a selection of local walking itineraries and a guidebook and head out into the 27,000-acre forest to spot daffodils, bluebells and colourful wildflowers beginning to spread across the forest floor. Guests are also given a locally-sourced packed lunch for two to enjoy en-route, before returning to the hotel to sample some seasonal food and drink by head-chef Rob Cox who prides himself on using a 20 Mile Menu, whereby all ingredients are sourced within a 20-mile radius.

A 2x night package from 01 March- 31 May is available from £490 per room per night based on two sharing a Hatching Double Room including daily breakfast, dinner, packed lunch for two, walking itineraries and a local walking guidebook. www.tudorfarmhousehotel.co.uk/forest-awakens

Spring Flower Arranging Breaks

The hotel has also teamed up with local florist Josephine Balme to offer a host of flower-arranging breaks during springtime; from creating colourful spring bouquets to building DIY wedding bunches. Join group classes or opt for private lessons; beginning with coffee and croissants before learning how to create arrangements using locally foraged foliage. Lessons end with floral-themed afternoon teas (including sandwiches, scones and jasmine and camomile flower tea) before guests spend afternoons making the most of the surrounding area on spring walks, River Wye rambles or exploring nearby towns like the pretty Hay on Wye.

Group courses cost from £50 per person including two hours of flower-arranging (11am-1pm) and afternoon tea. Bespoke private flower-arranging breaks can also be booked from £30 per person, whilst overnight packages cost from £150 per person based on two sharing a double Hatchling Room (including flower arranging, afternoon tea, dinner and breakfast). www.tudorfarmhousehotel.co.u‌k/flower-arranging-courses
