Visit the Tribes & Lions of Gujarat

Corinthian Travel has created a new two-week itinerary to India entitled ‘Tribes & Lions of Gujarat’ – a private, chauffeured tour which showcases the cultural and natural attractions of this captivating State that is now a firm favourite with second-time visitors to India.

The colourful villages and semi-nomadic tribal regions around Bhuj and the Little Rann of Kutch with their exquisite textiles, are one of Gujarat’s main draws and, on this tour, you’ll have two full days to interact with the rural communities, before delving into the rich history and architecture of the Saurashtra peninsula.

Whilst on the Saurashtra peninsula you’ll behold monuments that rank amongst India’s finest cultural expressions and see endangered Asiatic Lions in their last remaining habitat at Sasan Gir National Park.

Patan’s striking stepwells, Junagadh’s 15th Century Jama Masjid, and the revered hill-top Jain temples at Palitana, are all simply magnificent and, along with the lions of Gir, the tribes and textiles of Kutch, as well as an opportunity to stay in small palace hotels, ensures that this holiday in Gujarat has all the ingredients required to deliver an unforgettable India experience.

Other highlights of the itinerary include a tour of the Calico Museum at Ahmedabad, exploring tribal settlements around Dasada village and meeting tie and dye weavers at Wadhwan.

The holiday costs from £2,545 per person (two sharing a room).  This includes private transportation throughout, 13 nights’ B&B accommodation in stylish, boutique hotels (plus two lunches and two dinners), sightseeing and entrances as per the itinerary, private open-top jeep safaris, rickshaw ride through Junagadh, and a guide (days 2 to 13). International flights extra (bookable through Corinthian Travel.
