For many years the Hapsburg Austro-Hungarian Empire was the mightiest in Europe, and Vienna was at the heart of it. This explains the most wonderful architecture that you will find not just in the capital but throughout the country
Culture and especially music flourished in these times. Born in Salzburg Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is probably the most famous composer in the world, and any trip to the country benefits from a visit to this beautiful Alpine city, especially if you coincide it with the Mozart Festival in July to August.
