Tanzania is in East Africa. It has two huge lakes, partially within its borders, Lake Victoria and Lake Tanganyika. The largest city is Dar es Salaam and its official language is Swahili. The country is extremely popular for safaris.
With an area of 5,700 square miles, the Serengeti National Park is great place to go on safari. Famed for its awe-inspiring migration of 1.5 million wildebeest annually, people flock there to see this extraordinary sight. The park is also home to 250 thousand zebras and many Nile crocodiles.
At 4,900 metres in height, Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and is a dormant volcano. It forms part of the Kilimanjaro National Park and attracts climbers from all over the world. Many tour groups arrange trips up to the summit. The sunrise and the sunset are spectacular. Alternatively, you can visit the spectacular Sanje Falls waterfall in Udzungawa National Park.
The tropical island of Zanzibar has been an important point on trading routes for centuries. This means the island’s architecture has a strong Arabic influence. Truly an amazing place to visit.
