Sibiu’s Christmas Market transforms the city’s historic Great Square into a sparkling winter village.
Expect more than a hundred chalet‑style stalls piled with local crafts, sweet pastries and steaming cups of vin fiert, plus family favourites such as Santa’s Workshop and a classic Ferris wheel overlooking pastel‑fronted palaces. The square’s projection mapping creates a storybook glow after dark, while the ice rink adds proper alpine vibes. Everything is neatly walkable in the compact old town, and there are plenty of cafés for warming breaks around the perimeter. Trains connect Sibiu with Brașov and Bucharest, making it an easy inclusion on a wider Transylvanian trip. For a photogenic viewpoint, climb the nearby Council Tower before dusk and watch the market lights flicker on below.
