Discover Gastronomic Piedmont with Fleewinter

Fleewinter has launched its first food-and-wine-themed programme to the Piedmont region of north-west Italy, with an initial choice of 10, inspirational itineraries, all of which can be tailor-made or extended, depending on personal requirements.

The trips include one designed especially for honeymooners, plus a recommended family location for a fun-filled half term holiday – and are from four to seven days in duration, in a part of Italy that has been described as ‘like Tuscany, but without the tourists’.

The programme has been created by Fleewinter’s Jess and Francesca who have had a lifelong affiliation with the region that many consider to be the gastronomic capital of Italy, with a plethora of Michelin-starred restaurants, and which is home to both the much-coveted white truffle and some of the world’s most famous wines.

The rolling countryside, surrounded by the Alps, and which is dotted with charming villages and mediaeval architecture, also provides the perfect location for those who like to keep active on holiday, to discover the area on foot or on two wheels, burning off the calories before the next culinary indulgence!

Here are just a few examples of the Fleewinter Piedmont programme.

Pedalling Piedmont (four days from £260 pp, two sharing, B&B)

Tuck into a four-course meal for three evenings, guilt free, having spent the day exploring the rolling Piedmont countryside with its myriad of vineyards.  Ideal for an active long weekend, the itinerary also includes a chance to try an electric bike if the traditional method of pedalling gets too much!  Accommodation is in a boutique hotel with views over the surrounding countryside.

A Honeymoon in Piedmont (seven days from £830 pp, B&B)

Enjoy the most important holiday of your life by spending a week in picturesque Piedmont, staying in intimate boutique hotels, with first-class food, fine wine and panoramic views.  Highlights will include an e-bike exploration of the mediaeval villages, vineyards and valleys (with wine tastings along the way), a guided hike, and a day at the Relais San Maurizo Spa located in the Langhe hills (including a dip in the lake in the famous Salt Cave).

All holiday prices include activities as detailed in each individual itinerary. Flights and car hire not included (bookable through Fleewinter, fully protected).
