Fleewinter Lands in Cuba

Fleewinter has launched a new programme to Cuba, with six recommended itineraries from eight to 13 days in duration.

When it comes to holidays with a difference, few places can compare; located in the Caribbean, with its guaranteed warm sunshine, the island has a unique atmosphere and way of life providing a multi-faceted, memorable holiday for the intrepid traveller who arrives with an open mind.

Famous for being the world leaders in the production of cigars, people flock from all over the globe to immerse themselves in its lively street music scene, dance salsa, and sip the finest rum on white, sandy beaches, that are second to none.

Whether you spend your time in a vintage Cadillac touring the captivating city of Havana with its colourful, crumbling mansions, or go horseback riding in Viñales – the country has something for everyone.

Of course, Cuba is also a country with a fascinating history; its decades-long history of turmoil, change, perseverance and revolution makes it one of the most interesting countries in the world.

One Cuba experience which is highly recommended is a ‘home stay’ (Casa Particulares) which is one of the best ways to get an insight into Cuban life and which can be experienced on the 11-day Home Stay & Beach.

Highlights include a city tour of Havana, a day trip to Vinales via the ‘tobacco route’, Cienfuegos, Trinidad,  the Sugarmill Valley, Topes de Collantes National Park, .Varadero – via the historic city of Santa Clara, where Che Guevara celebrated his greatest victory – plus some R&R on the beach.

The holiday can start on any day and costs from £2025 pp (two sharing) which includes rental car with driver/guide, airport transfers, excursions, visits and entrance fees as per the itinerary, guide from days one to seven, six nights’ B&B in home stays (plus three lunches) and four nights’ all-inclusive in a hotel in Varagero.

Other itineraries include the eight-day Havana & Varadero – which combines the magical city of Havana, rural treasures of the Vinales Valley and the white sandy beach of Varadero. Driving time is limited so those who don’t like moving around too much can enjoy the ever-changing scenery of three different parts of the island (from £1570 pp).
