Winter in the Sun: Barbados from £237

 

Barbados isn’t all Sandy Lane and multi-million-pound villas; renting or sharing an apartment with family or friends is a way in which a holiday on the Caribbean island can fall into the holiday budget of mere mortals!

Located within a stone’s throw of the famous Mullins Beach, Ocean View is a very comfortable two-bedroomed apartment (sleeps four) with ocean views.  Beacon Hill is a small gated community, with a shared pool and jacuzzi adjacent to the apartment building.  Within walking distance is Mullins beach, and the Mullins Beach Bar & Grill – one of the most popular bars on the west coast.  Holetown is 10 minutes by car or bus to the south with its wide choice of shops, bars and restaurants.  A week’s stay costs from just £263 pp when four people share.  Flights extra.

Lantana 2, Weston, St. James: One week from £280 pp

Situated within a new development, Lantana 2 is a well-decorated ground floor apartment sleeping four people in two double bedrooms.  Tastefully furnished with local art and furniture by the owner, the main living area opens up to a spacious terrace with outdoor dining and sun bathing, and guests have access to two communal swimming pools.  The popular Mullins Beach is just half a mile to the north of the property while Speightstown is located just beyond. Sugar Cane Ridge, Royal Westmoreland Estate: One week from £237 pp 

Located on the renowned Royal Westmoreland private resort, Sugar Cane Ridge, is a four-bedroomed property sleeping up to eight people.  With views towards the golf course, the house has a private swimming pool and guests have access to the beach club at Mullins Beach (free shuttle bus).  There are loads of things to do for active kids including swimming, learning to water ski with Tiger Tony and paddle boarding.
