Valentine’s Day at Tudor Farmhouse

Those looking to celebrate Valentine’s Day in style need look no further than boutique hotel Tudor Farmhouse in the Forest of Dean, which is offering three romantic break options for couples between 10-17 February 2018.

As well as two overnight packages, the hotel is also offering a special six-course Valentine’s Menu to non-residents, prepared by award-winning head chef Rob Cox who has just won the prestigious South West Chef of the Year title. Those staying for two nights will also receive a basket of local goodies including Preservation Society jam or marmalade, Wild & Sage soap and some delicious Chocolate Bar treats, made in nearby Lydney.

Looking for something further away from home? How about a Burgundy wine cruise?

Prices start from £60 per person for the Valentine’s Menu and increase to £260 per couple for a one-night stay and £460 per couple for a two-night stay.

Indulgent Valentine’s Dinner

Available to non-residents as well as those that have booked either Valentine’s package, the six-course Valentine’s Menu is a real treat, packed full of local ingredients from producers within a 20-mile radius of the hotel and paired with local wines should guests wish.

The menu includes crab with grapefruit and guanciale followed by roasted chicken thigh with truffled garganelli pasta, pan fried cod with hazelnut and truffle pesto, Longhorn beef rump with ox cheek and shallot confit, dark chocolate and star anise ganache, finishing with a selection of local artisan cheese and biscuits.

After dinner, guests are welcome to relax with a cocktail or a glass of bubbly by the roaring log fire in the bar/lounge before heading home.

Romantic Overnight Stays

Those staying the night will also be able to enjoy the hotel’s newly-refurbished rooms, each boasting roll-top baths, plush monsoon showers, cosy duck feather pillows and Nespresso coffee machines. The most romantic room of all is The Loft; a spacious suite with cast-iron roll top bath, double ended walk in shower and two skylights to watch the stars at night.

After long lazy breakfasts (with options from fresh fruit salads and flavoured croissants to oak-smoked salmon, poached eggs, grilled brace kipper and the classic full English) guests are welcome to borrow Hunter wellies and roam the hotel’s 14 acres of grassland or enjoy a variety of romantic excursions; from private picnics in the woods to relaxing in-room massages and River Wye rambles (including the famous Lover’s Leap viewpoint) before heading back inside to warm up by the fire.

Forest of Dean & Wye Valley

Being based in Clearwell – famed for its caves and castle – the hotel is just a stone’s throw from all of the attractions of the Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley including Symonds Yat (with cycle and kayak hire) and a handful of pretty trails winding through the forest’s 27,000 acres including the Sculpture Trail and Puzzlewood; famously used in the Lord of The Rings films.

Prices:

A one-night Valentine’s package (taken between 10-17 February 2018) is available from £260 per couple based on two sharing a Hatchling Room with breakfast and the Valentine’s Menu, whilst a two-night package is available from £460 per couple and includes dinner on both evenings (one being the Valentine’s Menu) and a basket of local goodies.

A six-course Valentine’s menu for non-residents is available from just £60 per person. Couples can add paired wines for an additional £30 per person.
