In the days of very few live events we have the rare occasion of the 1066 Weekend at Battle Abbey, which takes place on 10 to 11 October.
This is taking place instead of the usual re-enactment to commemorate the anniversary of the Battle of Hastings on 14 October.
Step back in time to 1066 with a weekend of fun, family-friendly activities exploring the famous Battle of Hastings.
Discover the story of the battle at a theatrical 30-minute performance in the open air and embark on a new activity trail across the battlefield.
Find out if you would have had what it took to join William or Harold’s armies as you try your hand at archery, meet falconers and get up close to majestic birds of prey as you learn how they were used by Saxon kings and Norman lords.
