The Sarojin Celebrates Songkran

 

The Sarojin, Thailand’s luxurious 56-roomed boutique residence, is helping guests experience Thailand’s ancient water festival of Songkran, celebrating the Thai New Year, (13-15 April), with a range of special activities and a pool-side gourmet BBQ. To mark the holiday, the luxury resort in secluded Khao Lak will invite guests to join in with cultural traditions, religious blessings and festivities, making The Sarojin the perfect place to see in the Thai New Year. 

On the morning of the 12th April, the local Buddhist monks will visit the resort to give spiritual blessings and collect traditional alms; with guests invited to participate in the very special ceremony, it is sure to be a memorable event for all. Following this, guests will be treated to traditional Thai music and dance, along with Thai desserts and natural art; including building Sand Pagodas, or “Phra Chedi Sai”, offering guests an authentic Songkran experience.

Songkran wouldn’t be complete without water celebrations, which will include ‘Bathing the Buddha’ rituals and playful water fights around The Sarojin’s beautiful pool. To end the spectacular day, the resort will be holding a very special gourmet BBQ in its lush tropical gardens. With traditional dishes from across the country, including papaya salad from the north east, pork curry with ginger and pickled garlic from central Thailand and sumptuous seafood from the south, it is the perfect opportunity to try the country’s delicious cuisine.

To really enhance their cultural experiences, guests can embark on one of The Sarojin’s community conscious experiences, including a Glimpse of Local Life (THB 3,200, approx. £70pp), Street Food Cook for Kids Initiative (THB 5,900, £130pp) and the Phang Nga Temple Tour (THB 5,500, approx. £120pp). At the resort, guests can choose to relax on the 11km stretch of pristine white sand beach, take a swim in the soothing pool and even indulge in a treatment at the Pathways Spa.

From just from THB 7,638 (approx. £169) per night, guests can enjoy a luxurious Garden Residence for two people, complete with a luxurious ensuite couples’ bathroom and Thai Sala, inclusive of all-day a la carte breakfast, served until 6pm with sparkling wine, and taxes. For a truly relaxing stay, guests can upgrade to a sumptuous Spa Suite, complete with separate living area and relaxation pool (from THB 3,770 / approx. GBP84 per night inclusive of taxes and daily breakfast) and receive one complimentary hour of Pathways Spa treatments per night per room to indulge in daily massages or to be accumulated for longer, even more indulgent treatments and spa packages
